The consultation

The Client: "I made a few changes to the design you sent."

The Designer: "What kind of changes?"

The Client: "Just cleaned it up a little."

The outcome

The designer opens the file. The font has changed. The colours have changed. The logo has been stretched. The spacing is gone. There are three new clip-art icons and a drop shadow on the drop shadow.

Clinical notes

Canva is a tool. Not a qualification. "Can you clean it up?" is the most expensive sentence in design: it means "please rebuild the thing I took apart, and make it look like my version."

Recommended treatment: please don't touch the file.
